Services (Old Age Home)

Kiran Foundation Chandrapur

Old Age Home – Armori, District Gadchiroli

The Old Age Home provides comprehensive residential care for destitute elderly persons who lack family support, shelter, or means of sustenance. Services include nutritious meals, comfortable accommodation, clothing, and free medical facilities ensuring health and dignity. Beyond basic needs, residents receive emotional support, recreational activities, and organized visits to entertainment, spiritual, and religious destinations making their lives enjoyable and meaningful. The facility addresses the growing challenge of elderly abandonment in modern society while providing a safe, caring environment.

De-Addiction Treatment and Guidance Camp

Recognizing addiction as a critical threat to youth and national progress, the organization conducts de-addiction camps targeting tobacco, gutkha, smoking, and other substance dependencies. Free treatment facilities include medical intervention, detoxification support, and comprehensive care for addicted patients. Professional counselors provide personalized counseling sessions addressing psychological dependencies and behavioral patterns. These camps create accessible pathways to recovery for economically disadvantaged addicts, protecting the younger generation from destructive habits and rebuilding their potential as productive citizens.

SLCA Center – Salcete, District South Goa

The State Level Coordinating Agency operates targeted drug abuse prevention programs addressing Goa’s emerging drug crisis. Interactive workshops in educational institutions begin with quiz competitions assessing students’ drug awareness, followed by peer pressure activities and comprehensive presentations on drug types, addiction mechanisms, and consequences. Resource persons educate participants about short-term and long-term physical, mental, career, and familial impacts while emphasizing legal implications. Regular institutional visits create sustained awareness among students and teachers, building a preventive culture against drug proliferation.

Homeopathic Guidance Camp

Addressing concerns about allopathic side effects, Homeopathic camps introduce communities to gentle, holistic treatment alternatives. Qualified practitioners like Mr. M.M. Dongare and Ku. K.P. Indurkar provide consultations, prescriptions, and education about homeopathic principles in Gadchiroli District. The camps attract 80-90 participants seeking safer treatment options, with approximately 56 patients receiving direct treatment. By demonstrating homeopathy’s efficacy and safety profile, these initiatives expand healthcare choices for rural populations while promoting individualized, constitutional treatment approaches.

Day Care Center for Old Persons with Dementia

Specialized day care addresses the unique challenges of elderly persons suffering from dementia and cognitive decline. The center provides supervised environments with cognitive stimulation activities, nutritional meals, personal care assistance, and medical monitoring tailored to dementia patients’ needs. Professional staff trained in geriatric care deliver person-centered support while offering respite to family caregivers. This service recognizes dementia as a growing challenge requiring specialized intervention, ensuring affected elderly persons receive dignity, engagement, and appropriate care management.

Ten Bedded Hospital – District Salcete

The ten-bedded hospital provides accessible, affordable healthcare for economically disadvantaged communities unable to afford private medical facilities. Medical officers and dedicated staff deliver free services to Scheduled Caste populations and other needy patients, ensuring healthcare equity. Services include diagnosis, treatment, medication, and inpatient care without financial barriers. The facility addresses healthcare disparities in rural areas, operating with compassionate, quality care that upholds patient dignity while reducing economic burdens associated with illness, making essential healthcare a reality for marginalized communities.

SMILE Scheme – Cortalim

Supporting Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise (SMILE) rehabilitates beggars and homeless populations through comprehensive intervention. The scheme provides shelter facilities, basic education, vocational training, and social reintegration support funded by central government collaboration. Programs focus on transforming beneficiaries into economically independent citizens through skill development and livelihood opportunities. While implementation shows promising results in social rehabilitation, the organization continues improving consistency and follow-up mechanisms. This initiative addresses urban poverty’s visible manifestations while restoring dignity and self-sufficiency to society’s most marginalized members.
